Front loading is the SSL’s defining feature: you roll racks in from the front, so the pit fits into a line or against a wall where an end-loader never could. Inside is the same serious build as the rest of the range, heavy-duty 12-gauge welded steel, a 22-gauge stainless exterior, and mineral-wool insulation rated to 1,200 degrees, with 15 racks at 12″ x 48″ for a full 60 square feet. A 65,000 BTU burner with electronic ignition runs on propane or natural gas, and a single 1/4 HP convection motor with a 10-inch fan keeps heat and smoke even across every rack. It is built and backed by Ole Hickory Pits, the longtime Missouri manufacturer.
